Information for Presenters
Posters
Poster mounting boards are 1830 mm tall x 940 mm wide (6 feet by 3 feet). Please design your poster accordingly. Posters wider than 940 mm cannot be accommodated. Velcro tabs for attachment will be provided.
Each poster will be on display for 24 hours; the changeover will take place during lunch breaks. Posters will be displayed at a time to coincide with their symposia, and there will be a formal poster session on each evening from Tuesday to Friday from 17.15 to 18.15. A bar will be available at this time, during which presenters are asked to be at their posters.

INSTRUCTIONS FOR THE PREPARATION OF PRESENTATIONS FOR IPC3
All oral IPC3 presentations should be created in the form of Microsoft PowerPoint slideshows (.ppt or .pptx), or Adobe PDF documents; no other presentation software is supported. These should have been uploaded to our website by 12 noon BST (GMT+1) on Tuesday 22nd June. If you have missed this deadline please inform the organisers by email, and bring the files with you on a USB memory stick
All presentations will use a standard (1024 x 768) resolution projector attached to a PC running Microsoft Windows XP and PowerPoint 2007, with Adobe Reader 9. It is the author's responsibility to ensure that their presentation will run correctly on this setup.
Filename: Please name your file according to the following convention:
Symposia: SXX_NAME.ppt (or SXX_NAME.pptx or SXX_NAME.pdf)
Workshops: WX_NAME.ppt (or WX_NAME.pptx or WX_NAME.pdf)
Where XX is the symposium number, W the workshop number, and NAME is your last name.
e.g. S10_Bloggs.ppt; W2_Smith.pptx
Fonts in PowerPoint: To ensure that the fonts you have used are available you should embed them in your presentation. In the Windows version of PowerPoint 2007 click 'tools' and then 'save options' in the 'Save' dialogue. Tick the 'embed fonts in the file' option (selecting either of the sub-options). Other versions of the software may have a slightly different procedure.
Videos: Videos inserted into PowerPoint presentations can cause problems when moved to a different computer; please note the following to reduce the likelihood of failure.
1) When creating the presentation, place videos in the same directory (folder) as the PowerPoint file before you insert them.
2) Do not rename them when uploading.
3) Use only .avi or .wmv format videos (avoid QuickTime .mov, MPEG .mpg etc).
4) Use commonly available subformats; avoid the use of non-standard 'video codecs' such as Xvid, DivX, and stick to those available by default in Windows XP SP2 (see http://support.microsoft.com/kb/899113). If you are unsure whether your videos comply with this requirement you are advised to test them on an unmodified Windows XP machine, or ask your local ICT support for advice.
