Third International Palaeontological Congress (IPC3)

5. The Acquisition, Curation and Conservation of Palaeontological Collections
Organiser: Sarah Long

There have been many changes in the care and curation of palaeontological collections, notably the development of computer cataloguing, the formulation of accreditation standards, new conservation techniques and even the diversification of the collections themselves. New techniques and collections create new questions regarding the ethics and practice of collecting and caring for collections. The symposium will review the latest ethical issues relating to collecting, and practices in collections management and conservation techniques used.
