Third International Palaeontological Congress (IPC3)

17. Functional morphology at the intersection between biology and engineering
Keynote speaker: Peter Lucas
Organisers: Emily Rayfield, Colin Palmer & Phil Anderson

The biological world has altered immensely in the past 500 my, but the laws of physics have not. Hence, palaeontologists are increasingly using engineering methodologies to address functional, ecological and evolutionary questions. We will explore the potential and the limitations of these approaches, and the opportunity for increased collaboration between these two disciplines.
